"While temperature changes associated with natural cycles such as El Niño occur repeatedly, the additional energy concentrated in the ocean and atmosphere due to increased greenhouse gas concentrations will continue to drive global temperatures to new highs," said Carlo Buontempo, head of the world's largest provider of climate data.
